As part of our #HealthyHomelife campaign, we have teamed up with Ironstone Wellbeing Centre to share the best ways of getting a good night’s sleep when moving home
1. Reduce screen time before bed
Using electronics simulates the brain and makes it harder to fall asleep.
2. Try sticking to a sleeping pattern
Go to bed and get up at the same time every day.
3. Keep your bedroom cool, dark and quiet
Cooler air correlates with a more restful sleep. Sleep-wake cycle is largely regulated by light, so keep your bedroom as dark as possible. Mask disruptive sounds by wearing earplugs or playing white noise.
4. Watch what you eat and drink
Eat a light meal for dinner, and avoid drinking caffeine and alcohol.
5. Calm your mind
Try techniques like journaling and to-do lists to get all your worries out of your system earlier in the day, and keep your mind from racing.
